In South Africa, the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) is a system designed to standardize and regulate education and training. The NQF classifies qualifications into 10 levels, ranging from General Education and Training (Level 1) to Doctoral Degrees (Level 10). Each level reflects the complexity, depth, and scope of learning outcomes achieved.

An NQF-equivalent course refers to a program that aligns with the standards and learning outcomes prescribed for a specific NQF level. These courses are often developed in accordance with the requirements set out by recognized accreditation bodies to ensure national recognition and transferability of qualifications across industries.
